Hence the person should investigate what had happened to the Middle Eastern man and his belongings. Have the police taken him into custody? Is he being tortured just for having such views? Or has he been deported? What happened to his belongings in his apartment? The answer to these questions must be sought to ensure that an innocent person is not being punished or tortured for what he has not even thought of doing, let alone committing the offense. The first decision can be supported by the moral rule that one must carry out his or her responsibilities. These responsibilities may include reporting a theft, a murder or reporting to the concerned authorities even if a suspicious activity is seen to be taking place. The man rightfully informed the police officials so that he and his neighbors can avoid any impending danger. In doing so, he had not only made himself secure but also others around him and had also helped the concerned authorities in maintaining law and order situation by taking the appropriate decision at the right time. The second decision is that the person should further investigate the whereabouts of the Middle Eastern man. This decision is based on the moral rule that no innocent should ever be
